Nancy J. Green, 65, of Cedar Rapids and formerly of Sumner, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday, July 6, 2018.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Chapel in Sumner with Rev. David Barner officiating. Visitation will precede the funeral service on Wednesday starting at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Nancy Jean, daughter of Noble Gordon and Dorine (Nixon) Harris was born September 19, 1952, in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Twin Rivers High School in Bode. Nancy would continue her education at La James College in Waterloo. She married Roger Lowell Boitnott. Nancy worked at Upper Iowa University in Fayette for several years. She married Roscoe Leslie Wood. Roscoe died in 1991. She married George Elmer Kelly, Sr., and would later marry Michael Green. Following her marriage to Michael, Nancy moved to Cedar Rapids. While living in Cedar Rapids, she worked as a dietary aide at Manor Care in Cedar Rapids, worked in housekeeping at Crestview Acres in Marion, and was currently employed at KFC in Cedar Rapids. Nancy enjoyed cross-word puzzles, reading, bible study, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Michael of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Rhonda Stone of Madison, Wisconsin and Liza Wood of Sumner; six grandchildren, Deschanel Boitnott, Virgil William Stone, III, Israel Immanueal Stone, Summer Rae Flora, William Gordon Flora, and Chase Allen Flora; three brothers, Walter (Mary Jane) Harris of Fort Dodge, Gordon Harris of Des Moines, and Terry (Theresa) Harris of Kanawha; and one sister, Marilyn Harris of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, and one sister, Mary Harris.
